Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Volunteer Project

OVERVIEW

Friendship Circle NYC presents a unique Mitzvah Project for girls ages 11 - 13 years old. A fun and meaningful opportunity to give back and make a difference in the lives of kids with special needs in honor of their Bat Mitzvah.

A PEEK AT THE PROJECT

Volunteer Day: A jam packed day of volunteering and fun. Here are some of the projects that mitzvah project members will be busy with: Packing care packages. Planning a carnival for special children. Creating sensory bottles for kids with sensory needs. Baking cakes to donate. Hearing a personal account from the Mom of a special child. Yum food and snack bar. So much more!

Carnival Day: The Mitzvah Project participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on volunteering by running a fun-filled carnival for children with special needs—a carnival they planned themselves!

HOW DO I JOIN THE PARTY?

All Mitzvah Project participants will have their very own custom-made fundraising page, allowing the young philanthropists to invite family and friends to support their volunteer efforts by contributing to the cause (view last year's project). The fundraising minimum for the Mitzvah volunteer project and carnival is $1000/person.

DATES

Volunteer Day: Sunday, March 9 from 10am-12pm at Chabad - 419 East 77th St

Carnival: Sunday, April 6 from 1:30-2:30pm at Gym Time - 1520 York Ave

For a Mitzvah project to go ahead, a minimum of 5 project participants is required. If the listed volunteer dates don’t work for you, no worries! Friendship Circle can explore alternative dates. Let us know what works for you/your group and we'll try to make it happen.

*If a member of the mitzvah volunteer project would like to continue volunteering after the project ends, they can happily do so at Friendship Circle holiday programs and at the seasonal Friendship Circle camps.
